OREANDA-NEWS. OJSC KAMAZ will present a new range of vehicles running on natural gas to the authorities of St. Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast.

KAMAZ will participate in the Conference on the Use of Compressed Natural Gas as a Motor Fuel and the Presentation of NGVs which will be held on 18 and 19 September 2013 in St. Petersburg.

The authorities of St. Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast, as well as the directors of municipal and road services, passenger and cargo carriers will meet with the representatives of OJSC KAMAZ and OOO Gazprom Gazomotornoye Toplivo to discuss the use of natural gas as a motor fuel and infrastructure development, organization of service and maintenance of natural gas vehicles.

OJSC KAMAZ plans not only to present commercial gas-engine vehicles, but also to sign an Agreement of Intent with the Government of Leningrad Oblast on the 19th of September. A press conference will be organized with the participation of Aleksandr Drozdenko, Governor of Leningrad Oblast, and Sergey Kogogin, General Director of OJSC KAMAZ.

The members of the KAMAZ delegation, including Evgeny Pronin, Deputy General Director of OJSC KAMAZ for Sales and Service; Oleg Ershov, Director of Leasing and Sales Development, General Director of Leasing Company KAMAZ Inc.; Rafael Batyrshin, CEO of OOO RariTEK, OJSC KAMAZ’s general distributor of gas-powered vehicles, the company’s dealers in Russia’s Northwestern Federal District, will tell about the model range of KAMAZ NGVs, peculiarities of their maintenance and repair. The representatives of OOO Gazprom Gazomotornoye Toplivo will introduce the program of development of a gas fueling infrastructure for motor vehicles in the region.

Today OJSC KAMAZ has a solid experience of production and sales of CNG trucks: last year the company sold 300 CNG vehicles, and this year it has signed contracts for the supply of more than 1000 gas KAMAZ vehciles.

The use of natural gas as a vehicle fuel is beneficial not only to owners of fleets who can reduce costs for operation of vehciles, but also to all residents of the city and the region. Methane is the safest and environmentally friendly fuel the use of which will significantly reduce the amount of harmful emissions into the atmosphere.

Under the state program of conversion of vehicles to natural gas, there are two cooperation agreements in force: between JSC GAZPROM and the Government of St. Petersburg (signed in June 2013), between OOO Gazprom Gazomotornoye Toplivo and the Government of Leningrad Oblast (signed in September 2012).

KAMAZ and NEFAZ CNG vehicles are already operating in St. Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast.
