OREANDA-NEWS. Statoil as operator of the Njord Field in Norway, in which E.ON has a 30 percent share, has decided to postpone resuming production after completing a turnaround.

Reinforcements are needed to the platform structure before production can resume. The operator has stated that at this stage it is difficult to estimate both the extent of reinforcements required and the time the work will take. They stated that it is anticipated that the work may need to continue at least towards the summer of 2014.

A shutdown of the Njord platform also affects production from the Hyme field and will thus have a significant impact on production for 2014.
