OREANDA-NEWS. Branch of FGC UES JSC (part of the Russian Grids JSC) - MES of Western Siberia - shall provide a reliable power distribution scheme for Nyaganskaya GRES that was formally commissioned yesterday in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District.

Preparation of a power distribution scheme for Nyaganskaya GRES was started in 2011 under Agreement of Cooperation between FGC UES JSC and administrations of Tyumen Region, Khanty-Mansi and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Districts.

Creation of power grid infrastructure for Nyaganskaya GRES distribution scheme shall eliminate power deficit in Yugra District, increase the reliability of Urai-Nyagan power center, enable intense development of local industries, as well as cover the estimated loads of base material sector enterprises and form the basis for perspective development of Polar and Nether-Polar Urals.

The project of arranging the power output scheme for thermal power station of MES of Western Siberia included arrangement of 220 kV and 500 kV bused approach lines to Nyaganskaya GRES. The total length of Ilkovo-Lugovaya 500 kV approach power lines is 41 kilometers. Once they were installed, currently there are two power transmission lines: Ilkovo -Nyaganskaya GRES 500 kV power line and Nyaganskaya GRES - Lugovaya 500 kV power line.

Krasnoleninsky Gas Processing Plant - Ilkovo 220 kV transmission line was separated into two 220 kV power lines: Ilkovo - Nyaganskaya GRES and Nyaganskaya GRES - Krasnoleninsky Gas Processing Plant. Constructions works included installation of over 87 towers, 35 km of ground wire with integrated fiber-optic communication cable, and arrangement of crossings with existing transmission lines and motor roads. The length of double-circuit approaches from Krasnoleninsky Gas Processing Plant - Ilkovo 220 kV line is 35 km.

“We plan to start installation of Nyaganskaya GRES - Kartopya 220 kV transmission line by the end of this autumn. This overhead power transmission line 142 km long shall distribute power generated by Unit 3 of Nyaganskaya GRES. The plan of Nyagansky Power District development up to 2020 also includes construction of Vladimirskaya 220 kV substation with Ilkovo-Vladimirskaya 220 kV line” - Alexey Maltsev, Director General of MES of Western Siberia, noted.

Nyaganskaya GRES is one of the biggest thermal power plants in the world comprising three combined cycle condensing power unitswith aggregate electrical output of 1,254 MW.
