OREANDA-NEWS. Oil spill response group operating under the SOCAR Emergency commission led by SOCAR vice-president for Ecology Rafiga Huseynzade met with the deputy ambassador and delegation of the OSCE Office in Baku.

In the course of the meeting, it was mentioned that the project on technical expert and consulting services for SOCAR’s oil spill emergency warning and contingency Plan, realized within the cooperation with OSCE Office in Baku, was launched. It was noted that SOCAR considers the oil spill control a priority duty. The Plan was worked out on the basis of the National Plan of the Ministry of Emergency of Azerbaijan. During the meeting, OSCE representatives and counsellor-expert John Ostergaard expressed positive opinion on the project. The members of the response group said preparatory works for completing the project, considering the international conventions and meeting the requirements of the National Plan would be carried out.
