OREANDA-NEWS. DTEK is setting up a corporate research and designcentre on the basis of Energoproekt design company, acquired on 24 September. A meeting of founders of Energoproekt LLC, held on 27 September, officially changed its name to DTEK Scientific and Project Centre LLC. Pursuant to the Articles of Associations the core activities of the centre are engineering, geological and geodetic designs, and technical consulting in these areas.

“We are planning to invest over 4.4 billion hryvnias in our mining assets in 2014”, said DTEK's CEO Maxim Timchenko. “We are developing our coal business, upgrading and expanding the network of mine workings, which requires a lot of design works — DTEK places up to 150 orders per year, so the benefits of an in-house research and design centre are obvious. The Scientific and Project Centre will provide DTEK's coal enterprises with the best technical solutions and cutting-edge innovations.”

DTEK Scientific and Project Centre currently employs 22 people. The company plans to increase the staff to 250 employees, engaging qualified design engineers and best graduates of leading technical schools. DTEK's up-to-date research centre equipped with all the necessary hard- and software will carry out design assignments for our mining companies in Dobropillia and Western Donbas, and later for all mines of DTEK. Leading specialists of the centre will be certified by state authorities as qualified contractors authorised to carry out corresponding works. As a result, DTEK will have a better quality project documentation prepared in time, be able to implement better technical concepts at balanced cost and benefit from research-based and innovative project solutions.

The design centre will also provide services to external customers. The enterprise will be operating based on the principle of self-sufficiency.
