OREANDA-NEWS.  Kaluga Turbine Works OJSC (KTZ OJSC) – member of the Power Machines Company – has concluded a contract to supply four turboexpanders to Capital Investment Fund Ltd (Kazakhstan).

Under the contract terms KTZ OJSC is to manufacture and supply three turboexpanders having a capacity of 2.5 MW each and one having a capacity of 4 MW.

The turboexpanders are designed to convert the power of natural gas differential pressure into mechanical power, and will be installed at the Aktobe, Atyrau and Almaty gas distribution substations in the Republic of Kazakhstan.  The equipment is to be manufactured by the period from Q4 2014 to Q1 2015.

KTZ OJSC will expand the range of this type of products in order to fulfill its obligations under the contract. The plant already has experience of producing turboexpanders having a capacity of less than 1.5 MW and more than 8 MW. One of the recent projects of the kind are turboexpanders for Iran. They have been manufactured and put into operation.
