OREANDA-NEWS. Black Elk Energy Offshore Operations, LLC (“Black Elk Energy”), an independent oil and gas company headquartered in Houston, is proud to announce the success of the 2nd West Delta 32 charity event held this year. On September 26th, Black Elk Energy teamed up with Bright Light Foundation to host the second West Delta 32 Fundraiser, a special tribute sporting clay shoot and cook-off for the 6 families affected by the incident on the West Delta 32 platform this past November. The event was held at American Shooting Center in Houston and included a live auction and live music.

Net proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to establish a higher education fund for the children of the victims. As a result of the charitable contributions and personal efforts made by so many people in the energy industry, Black Elk Energy and Bright Light Foundation were able to raise approximately USD 100,000 (as of 10/4/13) toward this cause, which will be combined with the net proceeds from the Oilfield Helping Hands event in March of USD 130,000, bringing the total donation to approximately USD 230,000.
