OREANDA-NEWS. KAMAZ took an active part in the international exhibition GasSUF which annually brings together Russian and foreign industry leaders.

The exhibition took place in the pavilion of the All-Russian Exhibition Centre under the auspices of JSC Gazprom, the Russian National Natural Gas Vehicle Association, the Russian Gas Society, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation and the Moscow Chamber of Commerce.

KAMAZ presented the gas-powered dump truck KAMAZ-6520-33 (6x4) designed for transportation of various bulk construction and industrial cargoes. The gas-engine vehicle features its original fuel system consisting of two storage systems: for liquefied and compressed natural gas. Modern tanks with a three-fold safety factor installed behind the cab and on the left side of the frame are designed for storage of CNG in gaseous form.

A cryogenic system for storage of methane liquefied at minus 168 degrees makes this truck really innovative and future-oriented. One such cryotank which is as big as a 600-liter petrol tank can hold as much gas as 13 tanks with compressed gas. The total volume of all tanks is 464 cubic meters, and the total kilometrage without refueling is more than 800 km, which exceeds the cruising range required by the dump truck in its operation.

Representatives of large companies – KAMAZ’s, including Rosneft, showed interest in KAMAZ exhibits. This company has long been cooperating with KAMAZ promoting the use of natural gas as a motor fuel. One of agreements recently signed by the parties was concluded this May.

The largest oil-and-gas company and the leading Russian truck manufacturer are jointly developing vehicles running on natural gas and building the necessary infrastructure of NGV filling stations and service centers. In addition, the partners plan to produce and convert transportation, special and agricultural vehicles to compressed natural gas and liquefied natural gas as a vehicle fuel.
