OREANDA-NEWS. The presidents of Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan will receive documents on the Eurasian Economic Union treaty on October 24 at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Minsk, Russia's First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov told reporters late Wednesday.

The union may be created on the basis of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), which manages the integration process of the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan.

The Eurasian Economic Union is the next level of integration between the three countries after the Customs Union. The regulations of the union must be formalized within 2013-2014 and be signed by January 1, 2015.

Shuvalov said separately that the three countries have agreed upon the technical regulations for dairy and meat products.

“There were many arguments on these documents. At the meeting, a consensus was found, and these technical regulations will start operating from the middle of next year,” Shuvalov said.
