OREANDA-NEWS. Anhui province's gross domestic product (GDP) reached 1.36 trillion yuan (USD 222.9 billion) in the first three quarters, up 10.7 percent year-on-year, the provincial government said on Tuesday.

Such a growth enabled the province to earn the top spot in the central China region and the tenth in the nation.

The primary sector posted a 3.6 percent rise in industrial value-added output to hit 138.1 billion yuan, and the secondary's and the tertiary's figure reached 784.0 billion and 439.3 billion yuan, up 12.5 percent and 9.4 percent from the same period a year ago, respectively.

Fixed-asset investment rose 21.6 percent from a year earlier to 1.3 trillion yuan. Up to 15,575 projects kicked off, up 10.5 percent year-on-year.

Retail sales of consumer goods stood at 467 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 13.7 percent. In terms of the rise, which was 0.8 percentage points higher than the national average, the province was ranked 6th.

However, the province's exports fell by 2.2 percent to USD 20.6 billion in the first nine months.

Meanwhile, Anhui province's fiscal revenue rose 10.6 percent year-on-year to 255.1 billion yuan (USD 41.8 billion). The growth level was in contrast with the national average of 8.6 percent. Its expenditure reached more than 290 billion yuan, achieving around 79 percent of the annual budget target. Up to 233 billion yuan, or 80.2 percent of the total, was spent in improving people's well being.
