OREANDA-NEWS. Kola MMC (an MMC Norilsk Nickel subsidiary) stepped on another stage of Cobalt project. Cutting cobalt cathodes equipment was shipped to the Company.

Semi-automatic cobalt cathodes cutting sequence is machinery comprising almost twenty units: scissors of all kinds, conveyors, special tables, barrels filling and weighing posts, etc. The RUR 120 million worth Darley brand equipment processing sales-ready products meets all modern and safety requirements.

Cutting sequence mounting is planned for December, whereas calibration has March 2014 timeframe.

Electrolytic cobalt production at Kola Peninsula is a strategic investment project of Norilsk Nickel aiming at expansion of the Company's merchandize assortment at the expense of a highly profitable product. The project goal is erection of a unique Russian industrial facility producing high-quality and worldwide competitive product - electrolytic cobalt of highest hallmarks. The project is about RUB 2 billion worth.
