OREANDA-NEWS. Oleg Ostapenko, head of the Russian Federal Space Agency, has visited ISS-Reshetnev Company's facilities.

Having been taken for a tour round the company's key workshops, Ostapenko got acquainted with the current situation at the enterprise which stays at the forefront of Russia's space industry.

ISS-Reshetnev Company's facilities also served as a backdrop for the Roscosmos head to discuss the progress of work under the GLONASS Federal Target Program, Russia's Federal Space Program and the State Defense Procurement and Acquisition Program for the year 2013. The meeting brought together representatives of the Ministry of Defence, senior management of ISS-Reshetnev Company as well as heads of the companies which are part of ISS-Reshetnev's integrated structure.

Oleg Ostapenko was appointed as the new head of the Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos) by Dmitry Medvedev, Russian Prime Minister, on October 10, 2013. Prior to being promoted to this position, Oleg Ostapenko was Russia's Deputy Defence Minister. Since 2013 he has supervised the Ministry of Defence's system of advanced military research projects and developments.
