OREANDA-NEWS. The Supervisory Board of Latvian national airline airBaltic and CEO Martin Gauss have mutually agreed to extend his contract as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Executive Board until 31.12.2015.

We demonstrated with our restructuring programme that even in difficult times an airline can be turned back to profit.”

Martin Gauss joined airBaltic as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Executive Board on 1 November 2011. The executive board of airBaltic consists of three members. Chief Executive Officer Martin Gauss is the Chairman of the Board. Chief Operations Officer Martin Sedlacky and Chief Finance Officer Vitolds Jakovпevs are the two other members of the Board.

As announced recently, airBaltic has achieved a net profit of EUR +13.2 million in the third quarter of 2013. airBaltic has by far surpassed its original plans and turned around last year’s loss of EUR -26.72 million into a net profit of EUR +0.72 million in the nine months Jan-Sept 2013.
