OREANDA-NEWS. CJSC Northgas has announced the commissioning of the East Dome of North Urengoy field.

As of now, eighteen production wells have been drilled at the East Dome. The East Dome's infrastructure also includes a gas treatment unit with a capacity of 6 billion cubic meters of gas per year, gas gathering networks, a gas pipeline and condensate pipeline that lead to the West Dome.

The launch of the East Dome will raise production at North Urengoy field to its design level in 2014, exceeding 10 billion cubic meters of gas and 1.4 million tons of gas condensate.

“The gas treatment unit launched in October 2013 is expected to enable the company to double its gas and condensate production as early as November this year. The new gas treatment unit has laid the basis to reach the peak gas production level,” commented Denis Sugaipov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CJSC Northgas and head of the Gazprom Neft Major Projects Directorate.
