OREANDA-NEWS. October 07, 2013. Deputy Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) Andrey Tsyganov took part in a session of the Steering Committee of the International Competition Network (ICN).

The Chairman of ICN Steering Committee, Andreas Mundt, presented 2013-2015 ICN Road Map. Its main elements are the focus on priority and the most sought-after ICN projects, as well as engagement of all ICN members in the network efforts and implementation of the best practices and ICN working products in the activities of competition authorities.

Members of the Steering Committee discussed the presented initiatives, showing especially strong interest towards the issue of implementing the best ICN practices by competition authorities in developing practices, as well as regional barriers to effective dissemination of ICN projects, including language barriers.

Andrey Tsyganov proposed to use FAS Training Centre in Kazan to organize ICN events in various formats. He informed the Committee about the next international workshop scheduled for the beginning of December in the Training Centre. It will focus on cartel investigation and international cooperation, which, particularly, in the centre of attention of ICN and OECD.

Sweden’s competition authority summed up the results of a survey carried out following the outcome of a workshop of ICN Working Group on Unilateral Behaviour (Stockholm, 17-18 September 2013), while Italy’s competition authority presented information about preparing a workshop of the Working Group on Competition Advocacy, which will take place on 12-13 December 2013 in Rome.
