OREANDA-NEWS. November 15, 2013. CNPC President Liao Yongyuan attended the 2013 Zijinshan Summit for Entrepreneurs across the Taiwan Strait in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province.

During the time, he met with CPC Chairman Lin Sheng-Chung, and had an in-depth discussion with Mr. Lin on reinforcing cooperation between the two sides. Mr. Liao also exchanged views with Chiang Pin-kung, Chairman of the Third Wednesday Club, on deepening energy cooperation across the Taiwan Strait.

On November 5, Liao Yongyuan delivered a keynote speech at a sub-forum of the Summit. He reviewed the remarkable cooperation outcomes made by CNPC and Taiwan's petroleum and petrochemical circle over the past twenty years in the sectors of overseas oil and gas operations, petroleum and petrochemical trade, and oilfield services. Mr. Liao briefed natural gas resources and gas pipeline networks in mainland China. In response to the suggestion from the Taiwan side on building a natural gas pipeline across the Strait, Mr. Liao pointed out that the energy enterprises from both mainland and Taiwan should seize the opportunity and step up efforts for the project, as it will be a significant move to benefit the Taiwanese people as well as to diversify gas import and stabilize market supply in Taiwan.
