OREANDA-NEWS. November 15, 2013. Two items of scientific research achievements, “Development Technology of LSCC550 Liquid-sealing Circular Cooler” and “Research on Comprehensive Sealing Technology and Equipment for Sintering Machine”, which were independently made by Changtian International Engineering Corporation of MCC (CIE), passed through authentication by MCC Group, and were rated to be of international leading level and international advanced level.

The Development Technology of LSCC550 Liquid-sealing Circular Cooler is deemed to be a major breakthrough in the field of agglomerate cooling technology and equipment both in China and the foreign countries. And the liquid-sealing technology is regarded as the preferred alternative product for the traditional circular cooler in domestic and foreign sintering sector.

Aiming at the problems and shortcomings of the traditional circular cooler and the 1st generation liquid-sealing circular cooler, the new technology has further optimized the sealing technology and resolved a series of problems such as: (i) unstable wind pressure and flow state of the cooling air generated by liquid-sealing circular cooler; (ii) damages caused by high-temperature articles to the sealing system; and (iii) quick-wearing of the machine body and buildup of materials. In this regard, CIE has submitted 14 items of patent application (including 9 items of invention patent) and been awarded with 12 patents.

Now the LSCC550 Liquid-sealing Circular Cooler has been formally put into utilization in the Iron-making Plant of Anyang Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. According to the on-site examination results made by National Center of Quality Supervision & Inspection on Nonferrous-metallurgic Mechanical and Electrical Products, in order to cool one ton of agglomerate from 600? to 70?, the standard air volume can be reduced from 2,499.34 m3 to 1814.47 m3 comparing with that under the traditional circular cooler. Moreover, 1.65 kwh can be saved for one ton of agglomerate, with an obvious energy saving effect. In addition, there are more than ten circular coolers of the same type which are under design, manufacturing or installation, some of them have been exported to the foreign countries, and are fully recognized for the economic and social benefits.

The research work on the Comprehensive Sealing Technology and Equipment for Sintering Machine, with proprietary intellectual property rights of CIE, has been carried out to resolve the key problems on high air leakage rate of sintering machine. Through this technology, the sealing level of various key links of the sintering system has been greatly enhanced, and thus the overall air leakage rate has been minimized to the best level of the whole industry. By means of this innovation, the air-draft negative pressure can be utilized as the sealing power, and therefore the technical problem on sealing of the sintering machine’s top is resolved. The slide-mass gravity adaptive sealing technology has been developed to resolve the air leakage problem caused by the wear and deformation of the breast board. The double-way flexible sealing technology has developed to resolve the air leakage and clipping material problems under high negative pressure conditions during the operation of the double-layer cinder-valve, which will prolong the service life of the cinder-valve.

At present, this achievement has been smoothly put into operation in the Iron-making Plant of Chengdu Steel & Vanadium Co., Ltd. of Panzhihua Iron & Steel Group. As per the on-site examination results made in August 2013 by National Center of Quality Supervision & Inspection on Nonferrous-metallurgic Mechanical and Electrical Products, the air leakage rate is 24.2% and the energy conservation effect is outstanding. As of October of this year, this technology had been put into application in the projects of Baosteel, Xinyu Steel Works, Wakayama of Japan, AMM of Brazil and Formosa Plastics in Vietnam, and proved to be of remarkable economic and social benefits.
