OREANDA-NEWS. The Government and the National Bank of Belarus (NBB) has approached OAO Belarusbank, OAO Belagroprombank and OAO Belarus Development Bank with a tempting proposal to provide Br3.762 trillion (USD 407.584 million) in credit resources in the fourth quarter in support of ten core agribusiness projects.

OAO Belarusbank is expected to provide Br825.1 billion (USD 89.393 million), OAO Belagroprombank - Br934.2 billion, OAO Belarus Development Bank - Br2.003 trillion (USD 217.01 million).

In addition to that, the banks were encouraged to provide soft credits in support of farmer's current expenditures in Q4 2014. This includes Br1.303 trillion (USD 141.17 million) to pay for crops procured for the state: Belarusbank is expected to provide Br951.4 billion (USD 103.077 million), of which USD 51.289 million must be provided in foreign currency; Belagroprombank is invited to provide Br351.7 billion (USD 38.104 million).

Also, Belagroprombank is expected to provide Br1.038 trillion (USD 112.459 million) worth of credits for procure fuel, lubricants and mineral fertilizers.

OAO BPS-Sberbank (Russia's Sberbank Group) is expected to provide credits for finance the procurement of farming machinery and equipment in accordance with President Lukashenko's ordinance #143 of April 2, 2013. The joint resolution does not specify how much worth of credits OAO BPS-Sberbank is supposed to provide. At the same time, Belarusian banks were expected to provide as much as Br3.26 trillion (USD 353.196 million) to finance the procurement of farming machinery and equipment in 2013.
