OREANDA-NEWS. November 21, 2013. During the official visit to Ukraine the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has met with Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov.

Prime Minister informed the President of Azerbaijan on the results of very useful, in his estimation, the meeting of the intergovernmental committee on trade and economic cooperation.
Mykola Azarov noted an important rapprochement and activation of cooperation in energy, transport, agriculture, defense and industrial. He also stressed the importance of intensification of cooperation in the humanitarian sphere that allow bring together peoples and states.

President of Azerbaijan, in turn, stressed that Azerbaijani-Ukrainian relations are developing very dynamically and new areas of cooperation open up. In particular, Ilham Aliyev noted as a very promising project for Ukrainian companies involved in the construction of the Baku Metro: in the coming years is planned to increase the number of Metro stations from 23 to 70. Also Azerbaijan welcomes the participation of Ukrainian companies that in recent years have gained extensive experience in the construction of complex infrastructure projects, which takes place in Azerbaijan.

In addition, the parties agreed to intensify cooperation in the transportation of hydrocarbons, the use of advanced agricultural technologies, creation of logistics centers produce more.

Ilham Aliyev proposed to hold Ukrainian-Azerbaijani business forum, which would help to use new investment opportunities fully that are created in Ukraine and Azerbaijan.

Both parties agreed to coordinate steps within the CIS.
