OREANDA-NEWS. On 18 November 2013, prizes were awarded to the winners of the VI “Leaders of Corporate Charity 2013” All-Russia contest. Metalloinvest came sixth overall and third in the “Metals and Mining Industry” category.

The independent jury evaluated the Company's activities on a number of criteria, including clarity of charitable strategy and its connection to business goals, management processes, programme implementation and results and transparency levels. The prizes were awarded to companies which apply best practices in corporate philanthropy and social responsibility. Only those with a comprehensive approach to charitable activities, the sector leaders, made the top-10.

Julia Mazanova, Social Policy and Corporate Communications Director of Management Company METALLOINVEST, commented: “The priority direction for our CSR activities was increasing efficiency of project implementation. We have become more open to discussion and transparent in decision making as we understand that without participation from all parties involved, it is impossible to achieve the best result. At present, we see our role not only as a financial sponsor of various local social projects, but also as a provider of knowledge, management solutions and expertise for comprehensive approach to social issues. This strategy proved to be successful and allowed us to achieve a sustainable increase in efficiency of our work.”

This year, Metalloinvest took part in the contest for the third time. It reached a significantly higher place in the general rating and was included in the sub-sector ranking for the first time.
