OREANDA-NEWS. Ukraina Media Group has set up a new Regional Media Group comprising the four biggest TV channels in Ukraine's east: Donbass (broadcasting in Donetsk, Lugansk, Dnepropetrovsk and Zaporozhye Oblasts), 34 (Dnepropetrovsk Oblast), Sigma (Mariupol, Donetsk Oblast) and TV-Sfera (Khartsyzsk, Donetsk Oblast). Yuriy Sugak has been appointed a director of Regional Media Group.

“Ukraina Media Group follows its development strategy to consolidate into a single group all regional TV channels broadcasting in Donetsk, Lugansk, Dnepropetrovsk and Zaporozhye Oblasts, with a total potential audience of 9.5 million people, which makes up a fifth of Ukraine's population. Regional Media Group's official date of establishment is 18 November 2013.

“The development strategy for regional TV in our holding suggests the maximum synergies between channels. I mean, joint sales of advertising, content exchange, common technical solutions, and other things. The potential of regional TV channels is huge and we believe in their business success,” commented Director of Ukraina Media Group Fyodor Ogarkov on the launch of the regional group of TV channels.

Regional Media Group will be headed by Yuriy Sugak, the director of Donbass TV channel, who has an extensive expertise in regional TV channels development.

“Ukrainian regional TV is developing vigorously and has many advantages, including deep understanding of local audiences, a social focus, broad opportunities for domestic production, and flexible decision-making. For example, Donbass and 34 TV channels, a part of the newly established group, have taken leadership positions in the regions of presence. Even now advertisers highly appreciate their efficiency and effectiveness as regional TV viewers are generally a regular and loyal audience,” noted Yuriy Sugak.

After the consolidation of the four TV channels into the Regional Media Group, all 350 employees will keep their jobs.
