OREANDA-NEWS. November 27, 2013. The strategic vision of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) is reflected in legislative acts, in particular, in the draft Law of Ukraine on Development and State Support of Small and Medium Businesses, Director of the Department of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade Ihor Sheverdin said.

Ihor Sheverdin stressed that the government is actively working on the formation of the state support of business, including - financial and credit.

"As of today in Ukraine through the State Entrepreneurship Support Fund the budget microcredit program is implemented, which provided loans to small and medium enterprises for the production, processing, marketing, purchasing equipment, the latest technology on favorable terms under discount rate of 1.5 NBU," he said.

Prepared and submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers a draft National Program to support small and medium enterprises for 2014-2024, which will gradually introduce new kinds of Ukraine State financial support for SMEs, namely: the partial compensation of interest rates on loans provided under the business projects, reimbursement of lease payments, it is expected expansion of microcredit programs, and the development of appropriate infrastructure support.

The expert of the Ministry said that work is underway to create clear and transparent rules to ensure equal competitive conditions for business on legalization and anti-corruption. It has been restored the Interdepartmental Commission for the protection of investors, countering acquisition and takeovers. The Institute of monitoring of the business environment is established, whose main function will be to identify systemic causes of human enterprises and processing complaints from businesses.

Ihor Sheverdin also informed about the measures that have helped Ukraine to raise the 28 steps in the Doing Business Rating and enter the top ten countries that have demonstrated the best pace of reforms.
