OREANDA-NEWS. The Qantas Jumbo Joy Flight took to the skies with 357 disabled, disadvantaged, and unwell children.

Organised by Rotary and Pathfinders the flight was the first time many of the kids had experienced flying.

The objective of the Jumbo Joy flight is to give some joy and pleasure to the kids and their carers. Selected for the experience by Rotary, the kids from across Sydney, the Central Coast, Blue Mountains and South Coast enjoyed the adventure as little time out from the day-in/day-out challenges they face.

For today's flight Qantas provided the 747, the cabin crew and pilots volunteered their time, Shell supplied the fuel and Sydney Airport waived the landing and airport charges.

Noel Zammit, President of Turramurra Rotary Club, said the Qantas Jumbo Joy Flight was an amazing experience. To see the smiles on the kids faces when they got off the plane - it was just fantastic.
