The event, held in the wine complex Cricova, was attended by the Prime Minister of Moldova Iurie Leanca, U.S. Secretary of state John Kerry, the Minister of agriculture and food industry Vasile Bumacov, other officials and representatives of the wine-making companies. Iurie Leanca said that the wine industry in Moldova is traditional for the national economy, which accounts for a significant share of GDP.

According to him, it is no wonder that the launch of the brand Vinurile Moldovei was held in Cricova - one of the leading wine producers in Moldova, which can be considered a business card of the country. Iurie Leanca expressed confidence that the national brand "Vinurile Moldovei" will enable our country to position itself as a producer of quality wines, strengthen its presence at traditional markets and get access to the huge American market.

John Kerry praised the quality of the Moldovan wines, noting readiness of the U.S. to provide support for their promotion at U.S. market and other states. It is planned, that henceforth all high-quality Moldovan wines will be sold under one brand - Vinurile Moldovei. Winemaking companies can sell their products under this brand only if selected by the National Bureau of grapes and wine.

The bottles will have the label depicting stork. Single national brand Vinurile Moldovei will contribute to more effective promotion of Moldovan wines at the foreign markets and will significantly increase its exports. Moldovan wines under a single brand will be promoted by the National Bureau of grapes and wine.
