OREANDA-NEWS. December 11, 2013. Following the results of the eleven months 2013 total passenger traffic reached 1.218.850 which is 6.94 % more compared to the same period of the last year.

As it is noted in the report, Chisinau Airport passenger traffic volumes totaled 96.959 based on results of November 2013 which is 22,66% more compared to the same month of the previous year. These data indicate a record growth of passenger traffic registered up to this point.

Based on November results, the highest growth rate of passenger traffic volumes was recorded on the following destinations: Milan (+58.24), Moscow (+47.56%), St. Petersburg (+34.06%), Vienna (+8.45%) and Venice (+6.56%). The most popular destinations are: Moscow (36,98%), Istanbul (13,21%), Bucharest (5,62%), Vienna (5,16%), Verona (5,01%) and Munich (4,32%). Chisinau Intl Airport is the main gateway of the Republic of Moldova and for the sixth year consecutively is designated as "Airport with the most dynamic development among the CIS countries.

There 19 airlines that are offering 29 different destinations for the passengers all over the world. 4 national and 15 foreign airlines are operating in Chisinau Intl Airport. In 2012 Chisinau International Airport carried 1220496 passengers, which is a record number in Airport’s history.
