OREANDA-NEWS. Gazpromneft Aero has begun fueling regular S7 Airlines flights in Japan for the first time. Under the companies’ agreement, the aircraft are fueled at Narita International Airport in Tokyo. The Russian airline conducts flights from Vladivostok and Khabarovsk to the Japanese capital on Airbus A-320 airliners.

Gazpromneft Aero fuels S7 Airlines flights in Japan in partnership with the direct aviation fuel supplier Cosmo Oil, a national vertically integrated oil company that is one of Japan’s five most important oil refining enterprises.

Also under the agreement, Gazpromneft Aero will fuel the airline’s aircraft at other major airports in Southeast Asia, including Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok and Chek Lap Kok International Airport in Hong Kong. The contract involves increasing the annual volume of fuel that Gazpromneft Aero’s international network supplies to S7 by seven times. The total volume of fuel to be supplied under the agreement will amount to over 8000 tons.

At present, Gazpromneft Aero’s geographical scope of operations abroad includes 120 airports throughout the world. The company’s aviation fuel business strategy involves the further expansion of its international network of airports, which will make it possible for the company to guarantee that fuel will be supplied on time to Russian airlines at the best possible prices.

“The air transportation market in the Asia Pacific region is currently undergoing burgeoning development. Partnering with S7 Airlines in this direction opens up a new stage in the development of Gazpromneft Aero and shows that our company is strengthening its positions on the international aviation fuel supply market. Partnering with direct fuel suppliers that are leading the foreign fuel supply markets makes it possible for us to guarantee to our customers invariably high service quality, timely supply of fuel, and adherence to the formula pricing principles that apply at all airports where Gazpromneft Aero operates,” emphasized Gazpromneft Aero CEO Vladimir Yegorov.

“We are glad to expand our cooperation with Gazpromneft Aero. Southeast Asia is one of the key regions of S7 Airlines’ fight route network. We chose a reliable partner who, according to the results of our call for bids, offered us truly the best terms for the supply of aviation fuel to S7 Airlines flights,” commented S7 Deputy CEO for Transportation Organization and Ground Support Vyacheslav Pshenitsyn.
