OREANDA-NEWS.  December 17, 2013. Under the auspices of the Foreign Ministry of Russia the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) has hosted the International Conference "Arctic: Region of Development and Cooperation" with Vladimir Zhukov, Head of the IR-Directorate representing MMC Norilsk Nickel.

In his speech Mr. Zhukov underscored that Norilsk Nickel centers its efforts on developing the arctic production sites paying special attention to prospecting uniquely-rich mineral reserves of the Taymyr peninsula. He stressed the importance of cooperation with oil and gas companies in the Russian Polar region. In terms of logistical infrastructure Norilsk Nickel actively operates a fleet of ice-class vessels on the Dudinka-Murmansk-Rotterdam route. During the Q&A session Vladimir Zhukov outlined the Company’s social responsibility policy, transparency and programs instituted to attract well-qualified hires to the Polar Division and Kola MMC.
