OREANDA-NEWS. PGGM and Dalkia take over the heat activities of Essent Local Energy Solutions (ELES). On 24 December, the parties involved signed the sales and purchase agreement.

In a radically changing energy market, Essent no longer considers its heating activities to be one of the company's core activities. In addition PGGM and Dalkia will also acquire from RWE Generation NL three combined heating and power stations in Helmond, Eindhoven and Enschede that are connected to the heat grids. With effect from 1 February 2014, ELES' activities and the power stations will form a new entity.

Nothing will change for ELES customers. In the future they will continue to receive a reliable heating supply, hot and cold tap water including the associated service.

Essent is the largest producer of renewable energy in The Netherlands and delivers electricity, gas and energy services to consumers and businesses. The company regards the Netherlands and Belgium as its home market. The company employs 3,600 people and has an annual turnover of 5.9 billion euros (2012). Essent is a part of the international RWE Group.
