OREANDA-NEWS. The project to establish a dairy cluster (cheese and canned milk production) on the premises of Unimilk-Shklov (Mogilev Region) by 2017 will be supported with investments in the amount of around EUR 80 million, Russian Ambassador to Belarus Alexander Surikov said.

“Unimilk, which has proprietary farm production in Belarus, established Unimilk-Shklov JV in association with Shklov Butter Factory and Slootsk Brewery. The major sales market of the new dairy cluster is Russia. The new farm project will scoop around EUR 80 million in investments by 2017,” Surikov said.

“Presently, Russian investments into Belarus' economy accounts for 47% of the total volume of foreign investments. Belarus is the leader among other CIS states with regard to the number of joint ventures with Russian companies. There are over 1,000 joint ventures with Belarusian capital operating in Russia, including over 30 assembly productions,” the ambassador informed.
