OREANDA-NEWS. Incomes of Belarus' national innovation funds in 2013 have been reduced by 19.9% to reach Br1.032 trillion (USD 108.8 million at the NBB rate), with expenditures cut by 21.1% to Br909.2 trillion (around USD 95.9 million). A resolution to that effect was adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers of Belarus on December 18, 2013.

Incomes and expenditures of Belarus' national innovation funds were adjusted twice in 2013. The figures were adjusted for the first time on June 14, 2013.

For instance, Belarus' state-owned petrochemical industries concern Belneftekhim had its targets for innovation fund incomes reduced by 38.7% to Br238.572 billion (USD 25.166 million); expenditures cut by 55.5% to Br105.274 billion (USD 11.105 million).

The Ministry of Transport had its targets for innovation fund incomes reduced by 22.7% to Br97 billion (USD 10.232 million); expenditures cut by 45% to Br33.189 billion (USD 3.5 million).

The Ministry of Energy had its targets for innovation fund incomes reduced by 4.1 times to Br22.887 billion (USD 2.414 million); expenditures cut by 5.1 times to Br16.406 billion (USD 1.73 million).

In turn, the Finance Ministry had its targets for innovation fund incomes increased by 5.9% to Br13.3 billion (USD 1.403 million), expenditures raised by 6% to Br12.376 billion (USD 1.305 million).

The Healthcare Ministry had its targets for innovation fund incomes increased by 12.5% to Br19.728 billion (USD 2.081 million), expenditures raised by 13.4% to Br15.66 billion (USD 1.652 million).

The state-owned light industries concern Bellegprom had its targets for innovation fund incomes reduced by 2.1 times to Br9 billion (USD 949,400); expenditures cut by 2.3 times to Br7.472 billion (USD 788,200).

The state-owned food industries concern Belgospischeprom had its targets for innovation fund incomes raised by 26.6% to Br36.631 billion (USD 3.864 million); expenditures raised by 28.1% to Br33.277 billion (USD 3.51 million).

The government has opted to redirect a certain proportion of innovation funds accumulated by the Transport Ministry (Br50 billion - USD 5.274 million), Belneftekhim (Br96.65 billion - USD 10.195 million), the Defence Industries Committee (Br71.7 billion - USD 7.653 million), the National Academy of Sciences (Br74.95 billion - USD 7.906 million) in 2013. The aforementioned amounts will go to support several high-tech projects, including the project to build a Belarusian satellite for remote sensing of the Earth, equipment upgrade at the state-owned Institute for Meat and Dairy Industry Research.
