OREANDA-NEWS. January 16, 2014. The Moldovans will be able to work in Russia, if they observe the new rules on stay in this country, in force starting from on 1 January 2014. The head of the Moldovan Diaspora Congress, Alexandr Kalinin, made statements to this effect today.

When entering Russia, the Moldovans will have to show the real purpose of the visit. Thus, the citizens willing to work in Russia will have to declare, while entering the country, that they are going for work. Subsequently, they will have to address the Federal Migration Service to get a patent, if they are going to work at a private person or a work permit, if they work for a legal entity. Under these documents, the Moldovan immigrants will be able to work in Russia one year at the most.

If while entering Russia, the immigrants show that they go on a visit or on tourist purposes, they will be able to stay in Russia no longer than 90 days out of 180. Those who violate the rules will be punished, including by being denied the entry to Russia.

Data by the Federal Migration Service shows that about 550,000 Moldovans are residing in Russia. Almost a half of them infringed the legislation on stay in this country. About 200 Moldovans are banned from entering Russia monthly.
