OREANDA-NEWS. January 17, 2014. Over the reporting period, Moldova exported to Russia commodities amounting to USD379.5 million, down 10.3% from USD 423 million; Russia exported to Moldova commodities at an amount of USD 1 billion 122 million, down 19.6% from USD 1 billion 398.6 million. In January-November 2013, the unfavourable balance of trade of Moldova with Russia made up USD 742.5 million, down 23.9% against the same period of 2012.

The share of Moldova in a total turnover of goods in RF stayed at 0.2%. Bilateral trade between Moldova, Transdniestria included, and RF made up USD 2 billion 85.3 million in 2012, up 6.8% as compared with 2011. Moldova’s exports to Russia increased 1.7% from USD 468.6 million to USD 476.4million, whereas Russia’s export to Moldova grew 8.4% from USD 1 billion 483.6 million to USD 1 billion 608.9 million. Russia chiefly exports to Moldova mineral row materials, foods, chemicals, machines, cars and equipment, the RF Federal Customs Service reports. 

Moldova exports to Russia foodstuffs and agricultural feedstock, metals and metal work, machines, equipment and vehicles, textile and knitted wear. The structure of goods turned over between RF and the right- and the left -bank- parts of Moldova differs essentially. In bilateral trade with Transdniestria, industrial goods are dominant, whereas in the trade with Moldova agricultural products prevail.

The share of Trandsniestria in the bilateral trade of RF and Moldova makes about 46%.
