OREANDA-NEWS. January 23, 2014. Dammam University’s College of Business Administration organized an Orientation Day on last month to educate students and help them make more informed decisions about the areas of concentration for their degrees and ultimately their careers.

Representing Saudi Aramco Finance, Nader Ashoor, division head for the Joint Venture Support and Financial Consulting Division, introduced career options that are available to accounting and finance professionals and key success factors for excelling in these fields.

“There is a high demand for qualified finance professionals who have the right mix of technical skills, experience and soft skills,” Ashoor said while stressing the need for professional development. He encouraged the students to pursue professional certifications early in their career and identified these certifications as a key component by which they can distinguish themselves from the crowd.

The presentation was well-received by the audience and was followed by an engaging question and-answer session with the students.

Speakers from various organizations shared their experiences and advice with more than 500 male and female students. Saudi Aramco Finance sponsored the event and arranged an information booth, which provided students with an opportunity for personalized guidance and advice. The rector of the university, HE Dr. Abdullah Al Rubaish, thanked Saudi Aramco for its support in making the event a success.

“Saudi Aramco is a key stakeholder and beneficiary of the efforts by the university to turn young talent in the Kingdom into high caliber professionals. The university’s success is our success,” Ashoor said in his concluding remarks.
