OREANDA-NEWS. RWE has been placed in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index World (DJSI) for the fifteenth time and has now been awarded the Silver Class Award 2014.

RobecoSAM analyses the performance of companies sustainability management on an annual basis and decides on their incorporation or position in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices. The Silver Award recognises companies who attain at least 95% of the points achieved by the industry leaders who achieved first place.

The Dow Jones Sustainability Indices belong to the most reputable index groups for sustainable company management. From this S&P Dow Jones Indices and RobecoSAM select the best of the respective branches.

Peter Terium, RWE's Chief Executive Officer, recognises this acknowledgement of the company and its role in supplying energy: “We are the responsible partner in the transformation of the German energy market and will play an important function with our innovative products in the successful reshaping of the European energy landscape”.

In 2014, 818 companies from 39 countries participated in RobecoSAM's Corporate Sustainability Assessment. RWE is one of the few German companies that have consistently participated in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index World since its beginning in 1999.
