OREANDA-NEWS. January 27, 2014. This was stated by the EU Commissioner for agriculture and rural development Dacian Ciolos during the meeting with the Chairman of the Parliament of Moldova Igor Corman, commenting on the free trade agreement between Moldova and EU, which the parties intend to sign this year.

He specified that for certain products from European Union Moldova can introduce quotas as well as control the number of European goods, coming to Moldovan market. Dacian Ciolos said that Moldova has full support of European Commission but it is important that the authorities continued their efforts to implement reforms.

He noted that free trade agreement with the EU is asymmetric in favor of Moldova, and the concessions made to our country are unprecedented. During the meeting the officials also discussed issues of Moldova’s access to the funds of ENPARD program, due to which the local producers will have the opportunity to strengthen capabilities to meet the EU standards.
