As it was informed in the National Bureau of statistics, in December 2013, the enterprises of railway, road, river and air transport of Moldova transported 1 million 337,9 thousand tons of cargo, or 14.5% less than in the previous month, and 65.9% more than in December 2012. In 2013, the rail transport has carried 5 million 431,4 thousand tons of cargo, or 30.4% more than in 2012.

The largest share in the total volume of goods loaded at the railway stations in 2013, accounted for grain and flour products - 44,1% (20.2% in 2012), ferrous metals and scrap metal - 15.3% (in 2012 - 27%), construction materials and cement - 10.9% 22,5%).

The volume of cargo motor transport in 2013 increased by 23.8% - up to 8 million 184,1 thousand tons. The largest volumes of motor transport transportations in this period accounted for Chisinau municipality enterprises (49,8%), followed by Balti (7,3%), Sangerei (9%), Floresti (5,5%), Nisporeni (4,5%), Ialoveni (3,5%), Orhei (3,4%), Straseni (2,7%), Anenii Noi (2,5%), Taraclia (1,8%), Riscanu (1,7%), Soroca (1,4%), Rezina (1,2%), Edinet (1.1%).

In 2013, the cargo river transportations in Moldova increased by 12.8%- up to 162,6 thousand tons and cargo air transport decreased by 18,4% - up to 1.3 thousand tons.
