OREANDA-NEWS. February 05, 2014. The corresponding resolution was signed by the Prime Minister Iurie Leanca. According to the press service of the government, he charged the ministries of agriculture and food industry, Finance and Economics to prepare a draft of amendments to the legislative base for cancellation of duties on the nuts export.

Iurie Leanca also noted that he gave such instruction after consultations with business representatives within the framework of the Economic Council at the premiere. The head of the government said that the mentioned fee is outdated and is a considerable barrier for export. The abolition of this duty also fits with obligations of Moldova within WTO, providing liberalization of the exports regime.

The consultation of the Prime Minister with businessmen will be continued to identify and eliminate undesirable obstacles to private sector development, export promotion and attracting investments to create jobs. Moldova annually exports 11-13 thousand tons of nuts, or 2% of the total export volume. Almost all Moldovan nuts are exported to European Union.
