OREANDA-NEWS. The company Neviansky Tsementnik, which is part of EUROCEMENT Group, provided charitable assistance in 2013 to various organizations and institutions in the Sverdlovsk Region, worth a total of over 5.2 million rubles.

In 2013, the plant played an active role in the festivities marking the one hundredth anniversary of the settlement of Cementny. The charitable assistance provided by the company to the village included over 3 million rubles which went towards major repairs to the House of Culture. The roof of the building was repaired, and plastic windows and entrance units were installed; and the corridors were refurbished, as were the stairwells and other parts of the building.

The settlement of Cementny and the company Neviansky Tsementnik were established 100 years ago and have enjoyed an uninterrupted history. The plant provides substantial support to various institutions in the village and the Nevyansk urban area every year.

In May, the Neviansky Tsementnik group took part in a campaign to plant trees and flowers in the settlement of Cementny, called 'A village in bloom!', which saw 90 saplings of coniferous and deciduous trees planted. Elderly residents from the village also took part in the campaign, along with representatives of educational institutions, schoolchildren, staff from the management company and deputies from the parliament of the Nevyansk urban area.

In February, the company sponsored two sporting events: the open Championship for the Nevyansk urban area in cross-country skiing and the 9th basketball tournament in memory of the soldiers who died in Afghanistan and Chechnya.

The open Championship for the Nevyansk urban area in cross-country skiing attracted around 100 competitors to the course at the Children's sports school in Cementny village, aged between 12 and 78, from the villages of Cementny, Nevyansk, Kirovgrad and Verkhnaya Salda, as well as villages and towns from the Nevyansk urban area.

The basketball tournament in memory of the soldiers who died in Afghanistan and Chechnya was held at its traditional venue, the middle school in Cementny, for which Neviansky Tsementnik is a benefactor. In 2013 the tournament featured basketball teams consisting of boys and girls from the middle school in the settlement of Cementny, and from school No.3 and school No.5 in Nevyansk.

In July, Neviansky Tsementnik sponsored a sporting event for children aged between 10 and 15. The competition, which was held at a summer wellbeing camp for the sports school in Cementny, was attended by 80 young competitors, who were competing in a new sports discipline - CrossFit (a fitness discipline consisting of constantly varying muscle movements, carried out at high intensity).

In August, the company sponsored a celebration marking the anniversary of the settlement of Cementny, which included a folk craft market, a parade of children's pushchairs and a concert and entertainment program featuring performances by regional singers.

Another charitable event that the plant got involved in in 2013 was the acquisition of 120 copies of an annual subscription to the Pensioner newspaper, for veterans of the company.

This year, the company is continuing to develop its long-term projects with the middle school in Cementny, the Council of veterans, the Children and young people's sports school in the village and other organizations," said the CEO of Neviansky Tsementnik, Andrei Apanasenko.
