OREANDA-NEWS. Following a meeting held on 12 February 2014, the Board of Directors of Uralkali (LSE: URKA; the Company), one of the world's largest potash producers, has resolved to convene an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) in the form of absentee voting on 4 April 2014 in Berezniki, Perm region, Russia.

The EGM will consider the approval of a significant loan from Sberbank and amendments to Uralkali's Charter.

Shareholders registered as at 24 February 2014 will be eligible to participate in the EGM.

Uralkali is one of the world's largest potash producers with a share of about 20% in global potash production. The Company's assets consist of 5 mines and 7 ore-treatment mills situated in the towns of Berezniki and Solikamsk (Perm Region, Russia). Uralkali employs ca.11,800 people (in the main production unit). Uralkali's shares and GDRs are traded on the Moscow Exchange and LSE, respectively.
