OREANDA-NEWS. EUROCEMENT group is continually modernizing its plants with the aim of increasing the quality of its produce, reducing its energy consumption and improving environmental friendliness. In 2013, the group invested more than 200 million rubles in Kavkazcement. A range of major projects were completed using these funds.

In 2013, the plant came into the possession of 50 units of equipment in total: 29 brand-name cement carriers on a Mercedes base with aluminum drums with a capacity of 29.4 tons and 2 analogous trucks (drums) with a capacity of 23.5 tons; 5 Tonar curtain sided trucks on a Mercedes base with a 27,7 ton capacity for transporting cement packaged in bags and big bags; a new grader and 5 BELAZ brand hoppers for the plant's quarry; 2 forklift trucks in the unloading and cement packaging department, and 7 KAMAZ hoppers with a capacity of up to 20 tons.

In November of 2013, the plant came into possession of a new TEM18DM shunting locomotive worth around 45 million rubles. The new locomotive is the sixth locomotive in the fleet of the plant's railway transport department. It is equipped with all the necessary safety and control systems and is used for the delivery and removal of railroad cars at the Abazinka railway station.

With the aim of ensuring the impeccable quality of our cement products, 5.5 million rubles were invested in modernizing technological and laboratory equipment.

To measure energy resources and monitor transportation, in 2013, the satellite GLONASS navigation system was installed along with GPS on all the vehicles and railway equipment of Kavkazcement. These systems provide a means of receiving information in real time about the route of vehicles with full telemetry data: the location, distance travelled, speed, state of regular sensors, actual consumption of fuel, etc. The technology provides a means of reducing petroleum expenses and ensures uninterrupted control over rolling stock and its technical characteristics, which has a positive effect on the long-term operational lifespan of vehicles.

In 2013, several new technological solutions for reducing energy consumption and increasing equipment lifespan were introduced at Kavkazcement. Among them: high-tech systems for managing the deep throttling process on two turbochargers, allowing for the automation of the technical process of producing compressed air and the process of regulating the charge of the compressors; systems for the aggregate technical recording of energy consumption, allowing for energy consumption to be significantly reduced through planning its correct use, and systems for smoothly starting the five electric motors of the cement mills and the three electric motors of the raw material mills, which are currently undergoing start-up activities. The overall investment in these projects constituted 43.4 million rubles.

In 2013, the gas-distribution point in the plant was also reconstructed with the introduction of a gas mixing station with the aim of reducing natural gas usage. This facility is undergoing start-up activities.
