OREANDA-NEWS. Katavski Cement, part of EUROCEMENT group, provided charitable assistance in 2013 to various organizations in the Chelyabinsk region. Particular attention is traditionally paid to the educational institutions of the Katav-Ivanovsk municipal district.

In particular, the enterprise set aside 60 tons of high quality and environmentally friendly cement for the Katav-Ivanovsk district department of education for preparing the secondary general education school No.1 of Katav-Ivanovsk for the regional stage of the Russia-wide contest “Russian Teacher of the Year”, which will be held in spring 2014. 10 more tons of cement were sent to prepare educational facilities in the region for the educational year.

On the threshold of the New Year, Katavski Cement bought modern musical equipment for the Katav-Ivanovsk industrial college. Now the students of this educational facility have all they need for the full functioning of an instrumental group and for perfecting their musical talents.

It's worth noting that Katavski Cement is actively helping the educational facilities of the town, supporting talented children and taking part in events directed at educating schoolchildren. Every year for four years, the enterprise has sponsored the regional festival of children and young people's media Zhurnalenok, rewarding winners and nominated contest participants with solid prizes, and conducted the Pervoklassnik promotion, providing all children of the region entering class one with stationary, and also conducted multifaceted work with a sponsored class of school No.1.

The cement plant in Katav-Ivanovsk is also participating in the revival of Russia's cultural heritage. In the spring of 2013, Katavski Cement put aside 15 tons of cement for carrying out repairs in a unique architectural monument of Russian-wide significance - the Temple of St. John the Baptist, located in Katav-Ivanovsk.

Over three years, Katavski Cement has been undertaking the project “Alley of Glory and Memory”, within which the enterprise has been organizing a collection of photographs of the participants of the Great Patriotic War and homefront workers and placing the collected shots on stands in the War Memorial Square in Katav-Ivanovsk. Right now, the Wall of Memory holds 1,500 photographs.

The young personnel of the establishment made a big contribution to the charitable and sponsoring activities of Katavski Cement in 2013. They took a town special boarding school under their wing, where they organized an autumnal holiday concert for the kids featuring the vocal group Avers, and as a New Year's gift, they gave the kids a box of mandarins and a subscription for the first half of 2014 to the magazines “Children's Stories” and “Far Away Kingdom”, and also to the series of periodical publications “Mishutka's Magazines”.

Another of the young cement workers' projects was the promotion “A Beautiful Hand-made Town”. Following this slogan, volunteers of the Young Specialists' Council set up two benches in the center of Katav-Ivanovsk, and in the winter, together with other plant workers, they made a wooden slide in the style of the Russian tales of Emelya and placed it on a pedestrian precinct in the town. Next to it, a snow statue of a life-size Trowel mascot appeared, which the young specialists built together with participants of the popular regional festival of children's media Zhurnalenok.
