OREANDA-NEWS. Renaissance Capital, a leading emerging- and frontier markets investment bank, has appointed Robert Lamprecht as Chief Executive Officer of Renaissance Capital in South Africa (SA). Clifford Sacks is now serving as Chairman of Renaissance South Africa with specific responsibilities for originating IB and ECM business for the Firm in SA and across Africa. Renaissance Capital has three offices in Africa, located in Lagos, Nairobi and Johannesburg.

Mr. Lamprecht joined Renaissance Capital in January as Head of African Sales, having previously spent 13 years at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he held various senior positions in equities and equity distribution. Prior to joining the Firm, Lamprecht was head of South African sales in Johannesburg, having previously run EEMEA sales globally both from London and New York.

Clifford Sacks joined the Firm in early 2010 and became CEO of Renaissance Capital in Africa in 2011. Prior to joining Renaissance Capital, he spent 12 years with Merrill Lynch and from 2006 was Merrill Lynch's Co-CEO of Africa operations, responsible for the markets business across all products and geographies, including coverage of both local and international clients. Over the past four years, Mr. Sacks has driven the build-out of Renaissance Capital's powerful African equity offering, starting four years ago with the acquisition of BJM Securities and then gradually helping the Firm's Kenya and Nigeria businesses into the positions of leadership they occupy today.
