OREANDA-NEWS.   Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) Spokesman Khaled Al-Assousi said that the company plans to a set up a number of major development projects in the coming period including the fifth liquefied petroleum gas train.

In statements to reporters on the sidelines of the company's celebrations of Kuwait national holidays, Al-Assousi said that the fifth gas train project is making inroads as the company has got numerous government approvals. He added that KNPC is also about to sign contracts of the clean fuel project, the biggest ever Kuwaiti petroleum project.

"We are partners with the government in implementing the state development plan," Al-Assousi said. He pointed out that the gas project is also part of the state development plan and that it envisages adding a 5th LPG train for processing additional gases from fields, and refining plants.

He noted that the project aims to increase Kuwait's production of liquefied to meet the growing demand for it in local market, especially for operating power plants, as well as to export it.
