OREANDA-NEWS.   S. A. Zverev Factory in Krasnogorsk (KMZ), which is a part of Rostec’s Shvabe holding, has put 3D printer into production. Nowadays the factory manufactures digital photography and medical equipment parts using 3D printing.

A new device was installed on the factory within the scope of the program for technical reequipping and company development. Presently KMZ applies 3D printing to produce components for digital photographic recorders, camera lenses, as well as medical equipment.

Designing new products always requires prototype models of a product and its separate parts and assemblies. 3D printing technology allows considerable reducing time and costs for producing engineering samples and geometrically complicated parts.

3D printer also has allowed factory specialists to examine appearance and ergonomics of a product under development, check its construction functionality as well as to make changes prior to introduce a product into production.

KMZ uses American Fortus 360mc 3D printer designed for precise prototyping and direct manufacturing components from CAD systems.

Printing allows system to use stable thermoplastics, ABS-M30 material in particular. This material exceeds almost all competitive technologies in precision, repeatability and durability. Surface quality is enough for testing product functional capacities and presenting them at exhibitions.

S. A. ZVEREV FACTORY IN KRASNOGORSK is one of the leading Russian enterprises in optical and electro-optical instrument making. Through decades, the factory provides development, testing and serial production of optical devices and electro-optical systems. It is a part of the Shvabe holding.

SHVABE brings together key Russian enterprises in optical electronics sector. It consists of 19 companies, which develop and manufacture military and civil high-tech optoelectronic systems and complexes, optical materials, medical equipment and energy-saving lighting technologies. Holding enterprises manufacture products supplied to 85 countries.
