OREANDA-NEWS.  Foreign Trade Company KAMAZ summed up the results of its activity in 2013.
According to ZAO FTC KAMAZ, the company exported more than 5,700 vehicles and vehicle sets, over 250 bus chassis last year. Spare parts and other products were sold to the tune of almost RUB 1.8 billion. The whole dealership network of OJSC KAMAZ abroad includes 80 companies – 55 in CIS countries and 25 in the far abroad.
Good performance was shown by KAMAZ in Kazakhstan. In 2013, the sales volume in its market exceeded 3,600 units, which is a 25% y-o-y increase. The company fulfilled orders under large contracts signed with state structures and corporate clients for delivery of more than 900 vehicles. Besides, the pre-crisis level was achieved by AO KAMAZ-ENGINEERING, the Kazakhstan-Russian joint venture in the city of Kokshetau set up to assemble trucks, dump trucks and special equipment on KAMAZ chassis.
After successful tests of new made-in-Ukraine grain carriers based on chassis of KAMAZ vehicles and SZAP trailers, 80 units of such trains were delivered to large motor carriers and agricultural holdings in Ukraine. Besides, KAMAZ’s official importer – OOO Torgovaya Kompaniya KAMAZ – was included in the Customs Register of Ukraine, which enabled it to successfully struggle with suppliers of counterfeit spare parts. In Belarus, thanks to cooperation of OJSC KAMAZ, ODO VTK KAMAZavto (KAMAZ’s official dealer) and the Russian Trade Mission in the Republic of Belarus, the company managed to receive a permit for delivery of vehicles compliant with Euro 3 emission standards, which enabled to overfulfil a business plan by 40%. In Uzbekistan, the company won a tender and sold a batch of vehicles to Lukoil for its needs and 33 vehicles to the National Security Service of Uzbekistan.
KAMAZ was also active in the markets of South America. Thus, the company signed a contract for delivery of 800 KAMAZ-4308 bus chassis in Venezuela. Last year the company sold more than 230 chassis, the rest of products will be delivered there during 2014.
The assembly of KAMAZ vehicles compliant with Euro 5 emission standards was launched in Europe in 2013. They are produced at an assembly enterprise of the Lithuanian company Autobagi located in the city of Rokiљkis. The Russian trucks assembled in Lithuania attract partners from Poland, Slovakia, and also companies from other countries of Eastern Europe.
As for activity in Africa, KAMAZ received there a status of the sole supplier of vehicles for truck fleets of the UN World Food Program. It is planned to sell 218 vehicles in Africa within 2013-2015. The first 10 KAMAZ-6460 vehicles have already been assembled at the state-owned plant METEC (Metals and Engineering Corporation) in Ethiopia.
The above figures show that KAMAZ is called-for and competitive in external markets. The company plans to increase export in 2014: its business plan stipulates export of more than 6,000 vehicles and more than 500 bus chassis.
