OREANDA-NEWS. Idemitsu Kosan Co.,Ltd. announces that it launched operation of its solar power generation facility (mega-solar) in Himeji-shi, Hyogo Prefecture on March 4, 2014.

Idemitsu Kosan began construction of a mega-solar on the site of the former Hyogo Refinery in Himeji-shi in April 2013 as a renewable energy project utilizing an unused site, and the facility has been completed and operations launched on March 4. A ceremony to mark completion was held at the power plant on March 10.

This is the second mega-solar that Idemitsu Kosan operates; the first being the Moji Power Plant.

Idemitsu Kosan will continue to undertake the further expansion of its renewable energy business in order to contribute to the establishment of the best mix of Japan's energy supplies and secure domestic resources.
