OREANDA-NEWS. March 14, 2014. The Russian Railways' subsidiary RZD International LLC and JSC Serbian Railways have signed a supplementary agreement to the project "Reconstruction of Six Stretches on Corridor 10 Railway Line".

The agreement was signed at the Expo-Russia Serbia 2014 on 6 March, 2014 and supplements the contract previously concluded between JSC Serbian Railways and RZD International to carry out construction (reconstruction) work on Serbia's railway infrastructure. The supplementary agreement is for reconstruction work on six railway sections with a total length 112 kilometres of Corridor 10.

The original contract for the construction (reconstruction) work on the railway infrastructure and the supply of diesel trains was signed in the Serbian capital Belgrade on 23 May 2013 by the Managing Director of RZD International Sergei Pavlov and the Managing Director of Serbian Railways Dragomir Simonovich in the presence of Vladimir Yakunin, the President of Russian Railways.

The contract involves the construction and electrification of 15km of the second track on the Belgrade – Pancevo railway line, the reconstruction of six sections with a total length of 112 km along Pan-European Corridor 10, the reconstruction of the existing and the construction of a second new track on the 44 km railway line between Stara Pazova – Novi Sad and the reconstruction of the Serbian section of the Belgrade – Bar railway line with a total length of 200 km (Belgrade –Vrbnitsa), as well as the supply of 26 diesel trains made by JSC Metrovagonmash in Russia.

The contract was signed in the framework of an agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Serbia to provide a state export credit in the amount of USD 800 million to Serbia.
