OREANDA-NEWS. March 19, 2014. The management board of the Estonian Bar Association has decided to set up two new committees, with SORAINEN partner Kaupo Lepasepp elected to the new state legal aid committee and Mihkel Miidla, head of the SORAINEN Estonia Information Technology & Data Protection Practice, to the intellectual property and IT law committee.

The state legal aid committee will be looking into issues related to provision of state legal aid by members of the Bar and, where appropriate, preparing proposals for legal and practice amendments. Committee member Kaupo Lepasepp also sits on the Bar ethics and methodology committee.

The intellectual property and IT committee was established in February. Its aim is to assist and advise Bar bodies and members on issues relating to legal drafting and practice in the fields of intellectual property, information and communication technology, and data protection. The committee will also be preparing analyses and proposals relating to legislation and legal practice in those areas.
