OREANDA-NEWS. March 19, 2014. The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) concessions management team was recently honored as the best at a large airport (O'Hare International) by Airport Revenue News (ARN).

The announcement was made at the 10th annual ARN Conference & Exhibition in Orlando, Florida.

Cortez Carter, CDA Managing Deputy for Concessions, Planning and Real Estate, and Tiffany Green, CDA Deputy Commissioner for Concessions, attended the conference and accepted the award.

"On behalf of Mayor Rahm Emanuel, we are very pleased that our outstanding concessions team has been recognized by one of the industry's leading publications for airport revenue and concessions," said CDA Commissioner Rosemarie S. Andolino. "In recent years, O'Hare International Airport has raised the bar for airport dining with several new restaurants that feature a diversity of offerings and local flavor, as well as a strong commitment to sustainable practices. We continue to expand the airport's retail offerings and we are excited to be nearing completion of the redeveloped concessions program in International Terminal 5. Cortez and his staff have done an outstanding job to provide a world-class experience for travelers through new amenities and services."

The awards were voted on by airport concessions industry company representatives, with airports voting for concessions awards and concessionaires voting for airport program awards. All finalists were determined by the first and second round of voting, while the winners were determined by a final round of voting.

The ARN annual conference features the largest gathering of airport decision makers and concession executives at any conference throughout the year.
