OREANDA-NEWS. March 19, 2014. Ministry of Labour and Social Protection hasproposed a new legislation in Parliament providing for increase of all social benefits in Kazakhstan starting from April 1. It was announced by the Minister Tamara Duissenova at the briefing in the Central Communications Service.

"The bill includes an increase of the sizes of pensions, government and social incapacity benefit, survivor benefit, some benefits for certain categories of citizens starting from April 1 of this year," T. Duissenova said.

According to her, employment-based pensions will be increased up to 14%, all payments ranging from basic to child benefits - up to 12 %.

"Social package includes all categories of socially vulnerable citizens. And the amount that we have provided in the budget is 53.4 billion tenge," the Head of the Ministry of Labour added.

Of those 51.3 billion tenge will be sent directly to those programs that are financed from the state budget.

"2.1 billion tenge will go as targeted transfers to local executive bodies for the child benefit payment and public assistance for low-income citizens," T. Duissenova said.

The number of beneficiaries exceeds 4 million people in Kazakhstan now.
